DAY 1 CHIANG MAI - TREKKING
In the morning (approx. time 09.00) pick up from the hotel. Travel by pick up truck to Chiang Dao which will take one hour. On route have a look to a local countryside market. Also an opportunity to buy some stuff for the coming days. Go on for lunch at a local food shop. Then drive on to the Lahu hill tribe village Pang Tong. From here the trek starts and after approx. 3 hours you will reach a Karen hill tribe village. Take a walk around the village and
get an impression of the lifestyle from these friendly people here in the hills, while the trekking guide will prepare
a tasty dinner. Overnight in a simple hut with mosquito nets.
DAY 2 TREKKING
After breakfast start trekking. First you will reach an Akha- an later a Lisu hill tribe village. At both places you get enough time to observe their way of living. Lunch break will be at a small Shan village. In the afternoon the trek through the mountain wilderness continues until you reach the Palong hill tribe village of Pang Ho. Go around the village and chat with the locals. After dinner will be a cross cultural exchange program. The Palong people show you some performances (dances etc.) and play some games as well. Stay overnight again in a simple hut with mosquito nets (Today's trekking is approx. 4-5 hours).
DAY 3 TREKKING - CHIANG MAI
Go on walking for another hour, passing Karen- and Lahu hill tribe villages before reaching the road. The pick up truck will transfer you to the mystic cave of Chiang Dao. Time to explore the cave and temple. Early afternoon travel back to Chiang Mai, where you will arrive at approx. time 16.00. Transfer to the hotel, airport or railway station, depends on your further schedule.

FLEXIBILITY:
An optional elephant ride and bamboo rafting can be included in the above itinerary. If you wish to do so, then please let the trekking guide know on the first day! On request there is also a 4 days/3 nights trekking package available in this area. Accommodation in Chiang Mai before and/or after this tour can be booked with us as well.
REMARKS:
A small rucksack and a water canteen can be provided. During the cool season (Dec-Feb) we recommend to bring a long sleeves sweater or a jacket. A mosquito repellent and a torch can be very useful as well. Otherwise light clothes and good walking shoes are recommended to wear during the trek.
