DAY 1 CHIANG MAI
In the morning pick up from the hotel, airport or railway station. First visit Wat Prathat Doi Suthep mountain temple, the holy pilgrim site of Chiang Mai and enjoy the views of the city. Continue your trip in the northern capital through the older part and visit one of the many ancient temples. In the afternoon have a look to some local handicraft centers, such as the umbrella making in Bosang, lacquer ware, silverware, woodcarving etc. (just visit the ones in which you are interested).
DAY 2 CHIANG MAI
Full day tour to Doi Inthanon National Park (Thailand's highest peak, 2565 m). Enjoy nice mountain sceneries from the two royal pagodas on the peak and see picturesque waterfalls. Further Visit at a Karen and Hmong hill tribe village. On the way back to Chiang Mai, take a side trip to Lamphun and stop at beautiful Haripunchai temple. You will be back in Chiang Mai by late afternoon.
DAY 3 CHIANG MAI
In the morning drive for approx. one hour to an elephant camp north of Chiang Mai to observe elephants taking their bath. Then enjoy a 1 hour elephant safari through the forest. An ox cart will bring you back to the camp. After lunch take a lazy trip down the river on a bamboo raft. Then drive back to Chiang Mai incl. a short stop at an orchid farm. End of the tour. Transfer to the hotel, airport or railway station, depend on your further itinerary.
