

Northern Thailand includes a total of 17 provinces: Chiangmai, Chiangrai, Kamphaeng Phet, Lamphun, Lampang, Mae Hong Son, Nakhon Sawan, Nan, Phayao, Phetchabun, Phitchit, Phitsanulok, Phrae, Sukothai, Tak, Uthai Thani and Uttaradit. Northern Thailand was formerly at the 15th Century the Kingdom of Lanna. The term Lanna is still frequently found today in the regions of northern Thailand. Northern Thailand has beautiful mountains and picturesque river valleys.
