There are many interesting places in Chiangrai to visit and to explore. Some of the well known buddhist temples are Wat Phra Singh Chiangrai and Wat Phra That Chom Thong. Doi Chomthong is the Chiangrai hilltop with a great view over the Kok River and whole Chiangrai city.

Attractions and Sightseeing in Chiang Rai
The Monument of King Mengrai the Great (Pho Khun Mang Rai the Great) is also located in Chiangrai City, directly on the intersection which is leading to Mae Chan (the starting point of Highway 10). Mengrai was prime King of the Lanna Kingdom and he was the founder of Chiang Rai.
Other famous temples to visit in Chiangrai are Wat Phra Kaeo (located on Trairat Road), Wat Rong Khun (which is located outside of Chiangrai City in Pa Or Donchai District, Muang County, Chiang Rai Province), Wat Ngammuang (Doi Ngammuang) or Wat Klang Wiang located on Uttarakit Road.
