The main purpose of the museum is to collect, preserve and exhibit the cultural heritage of Surin province. The museum features five main areas: Natural Sciences, History and Archeology, local History, Ethnology and local heritage.
Surin National Museum (Department of Fine Arts) is located at kilometer 4 of the Highway No. 214, if leaving Surin city to the direction of Prasat it will be on the left side, before the Esso gasoline station and the Nang Tao intersection, the Surin bypass road.
