![]() Ko Samui IslandWat KhunaramWat Kunaram is located just a few kilometres from Hua Thanon in the south-east corner of Ko Samui island on route 4169, near the Na Muang waterfall. The mummified body of the holy monk Luang Pho Daend (1894-1973) who is wearing sun glasses is the main attraction of Wat Kunaram temple. The monk is sitting in a upright meditation position in a glass casket. The black sun glasses are covering the fact that the eyes of Luang Pho Daend have fallen back into his head. Near the Wat Kunaram temple are also several tourist stands with things and souvenirs to buy. It is nice to have a walk around the temple grounds. It is also interesting to visit the temple school of Wat Kunaram which is constructed over the site of the monks old home. |
