MAE HONG SORN PACKAGE

This guided tour will bring you to Mae Hong Sorn, the picturesque province in the north-west of the country.

Day 1: Chiang Mai - Mae Hong Sorn

In the morning pick up from the airport or hotel. Take a short flight (25 min.) to Mae Hong Sorn. Enjoy a boat- or raft trip (you have the choice!) on the Pai River through scenic areas. Go on to visit a rare Paduang ("longnecks") village. Some women of this tribe elongate their necks by adding brass neck rings annually from an early age. An optional elephant ride through the forest can be arranged. Late afternoon check in to the nice resort, just outside the town. Overnight at the resort.

Day 2: Mae Hong Sorn

Travel along beautiful mountain scenery to Ban Soppong. On the way passing through Lahu and Lisu hill tribe villages. Nearby from Ban Soppong you visit Thum Lot, a spectacular cave in the wilderness with weird rock formations. Drive back to Mae Hong Sorn and do a short side trip to Phasua waterfall. There is time left to relax at the pool in the nice resort on the banks of the Pai River..............or explore the nearby Shan village by your own. Overnight at the resort.

Day 3: Mae Hong Sorn - Chiang Mai

First walk through the local morning market of the small town. Next visit the two most beautiful Burmese style temples of Mae Hong Sorn, Wat Doi Kong Moo on a small hilltop, which offers great views, and Wat Jong Klang, right at the picturesque city lake. After lunch take a short flight back to Chiang Mai.
